Internet of Things

The Internet of Things, abbreviated IoT, is a global phenomenon and ongoing trend of more and more devices, equipment, machines, buildings and vehicles (the ‘Things’) becoming connected to some form of network (like the Internet). Where connectivity is enabled using embedded electronics, sensors, software and communications. The ‘Thing’ is then able to sensed, controlled remotely, and collect and exchange data across existing network infrastructure. Advanced analytics are applied to the data to create real-time insights, creating opportunities for increasing operational efficiency, innovating new business models and driving growth and economic benefit.
